I've been an off road rider since I was 10 years old. I guess being on two wheels is just one of those things that's just in your blood and not everyone has. Anyway, I've been riding dirt bikes for a long time. Within the last few years, however, I became fascinated with the idea of doing an electric dirt bike conversion. So, I found a 2001 CR125 dirt bike with no motor and converted it to electric. This led me down the path of discovering how to build high output/amperage lithium ion battery packs. From there, I learned about the Surron bikes and also the Talaria and others.

I've also been an engineer for over 25 years and have been in robotics for at least 15 of those. As an engineer and a tinkerer, I started looking at the large battery packs that were being thrown away and started wondering if there was something I could do to prevent those packs from going directly to the recycler. In September of 2023, BraapZap was born!

We started this company as a way to help fellow ebike and emoto riders get their bikes back on the trail rather than having them sit with a dead battery. Ebike batteries have a finite lifespan and typically lose some percentage of their capacity every year until the pack is no longer useable. We recognize that throwing away or buying new ebike batteries just isn't good for the environment or the wallet, so we decided to do something about it by offering a quality pack rebuilding solution at a fair price.
