I think we finally have this figured out!

It appears that the UltraBee is using the J1939 CANbus protocol standard to communicate with the various bike components, including controller, battery and charger. I use the term "standard" loosely, because J1939 allows for "manufacturer specific" address space to define non-standard functions.
