Unbypassing a Bypassed Surron Battery

We had a couple of Surron batteries come in and the customer asked if we would unbypass them. That has to be a first, but, yeah, we can do that! This really is the smart move as these batteries are expensive and running them bypassed is quite unsafe and could lead to the destruction of the pack and/or a fire.

Now, I must say that whoever bypassed this did a great job. The heat shrink and electrical connections are super thick and extremely high quality. They even covered the screw terminals with black silicone, a step which most seem to forget or overlook. It took some special copper connectors to re-connect the BMS outputs to the external power connector but we were able to get it wrapped up. Super close quarters work as the leads are pretty short, but both packs are on their way back to the customer and should last a long time.
